Joshua K. Callaway (1834-1863) was born to Reverend Joseph and Temperence Callaway on September 2, 1834 in Alabama. After Callaway’s parents died in 1857, he married Dulcinea Baker. They had three children together, two girls and one boy. After the birth of his son Joseph in early 1862, Joshua joined the 28th Alabama Regiment, Army of Tennessee, Confederate Army as a lieutenant.
